The origins of the company go back to 1993 when the concept of replacement doors first emerged as a cost effective alternative to fitting a complete new fitted kitchen and it traded very successfully until 2002 supplying and fitting in the South-Eastern Home Counties

In 2001, with an ever-increasing choice of made to measure doors of different types, and increasing consumer awareness of the availability of this service, the owners of the company decided to set up a web site to supply replacement doors nationwide on a supply-only basis, offering enormous potential savings to those intrepid enthusiasts willing and able to undertake their own “kitchen transformation” (or hire a local builder or carpenter to do it for them).

This was the first of several companies trading mainly on the internet and it still trades today as The Replacement Kitchen & Bedroom Door Company and you can find it at:

A second site was established in 2002 to supply additional ranges of kitchen and bedroom doors, at even lower prices. This time, because by now we had grown accustomed to naming the company to reflect what it did, we called it The Budget Kitchen Door Company which can be found at:

As the orders started to come in, customers were soon asking if we could supply other items such as cabinets, worktops, new drawer boxes and other items to enable them to fit complete new kitchens and bedrooms. We were only too happy to oblige because we had been supplying all these items to customers for over ten years and only needed to make arrangements with our suppliers to deliver to other areas.

This web site, The Kitchen & Bedroom Studio was set up to supply these needs to customers who want the very best in complete fitted kitchens & bedrooms, supplied to the standard they would expect from a local specialist outlet but at a price that would not break the bank.

In late 2002, we moved into our present showroom in Sevenoaks, in Kent, where 3 people are now employed full time to deal with the enquiries and orders.

Maurice, affectionately known as “Moz”, manages the showroom with able assistance from Karen and Jeff. They are all happy to discuss any queries or problems with you and will personally oversea your order from inception through production to delivery.

We invite you to use all three of our sites in planning your "transformation", new kitchen or fitted bedroom but please remember, this is not a “faceless” internet company. We encourage you to speak to us on the phone or call in person if you are close enough. Otherwise we are happy to send out samples, brochures and colour swatches in the post, to help you make the right choice.
